Pokemon Profile Pic Phenomenon

So, if you're on facebook--or perhaps some other social networks like Twitter or Livejournal--surely you're aware that December is official "make your profile pic a pokemon" month, or something like that?

I just found out today.

I like facebook and all, but I typically don't follow those types of trends--for example, when people started "grid tags", taking an image with lots of small photos in it and tagging people as characters or phrases that describe them, etc.--I never did that. Nor was I the type to do most of those forwarding games and such.

But I have to say that every once in a while, every blue moon, there's a time where the people that you hang out with make that sort of thing fun. This pokemon profile thing is one of them. Now, I'm friends with all sorts of people from all walks of life--those that I'm closest to have more in common with me, for sure--and even among the ones that I don't speak to that often, we ALL have one thing in common:

We've all played pokemon at some point in our lives.

There are going to be some that say that this is stupid, that this makes no sense, that we're grown and blah blah blah. I don't want to be a mindless zombie with little to no memory or enjoyment of my childhood. I liked my childhood, dammit, and I'm going to keep enjoying it even from an adult perspective. Also, I want to know what my friends would pick. For those of you who want to know: My choice was Pikachu. He's not really my favorite, but I like playing him on Smash Brothers, so I figure why not. Playing with him on Melee is really what made him my preferred pokemon, lol.
